Welcome to The Life Sherpa’s online home.
My name is Carli Bauzá-Feliciano.
Carlos Enrique, like Papá.
Feliciano from Mamá.
Besides other roles, the main part I play in the world is that of Life Sherpa – a guide in the mountains, literally, as in life.
My Life Purpose is Rebel Liberator by Decryption.
My Mission is to Restore Spirit by Revealing It to Itself.
All that I do as a coach points to this self-defined decree. I do my work hoping to help you live better and be a bigger human – by reacquainting you with your Life Purpose and making you more aware of how you be & do life.
Here’s a bit about my journey…
* How did I become a Personal Evolution Coach?
My road to this practice has been an interesting – and unlikely – one, having done my rounds as an art student, furniture craftsman, and even meat cleaver at a meat store during my college years. I later left my Puertorican homeland to earn a Masters in Industrial Design. While wearing the label of designer in New York and Copenhagen, I took up copy writing and photography, the latter of which I still do professionally.
It was in New York that I began to explore the anatomy of reality. After months of feeling unmotivated, unfit for a job in my own field – and pretty bitter overall – my frustration opened a door to the deeper questions about life.
“There must be something else to this than earning less than a student and living in this Brooklyn basement…”
Not knowing when – and if – I’d be moving up to higher floors, I studied the mind, spirit, and how we create our experiences. I began to apply principles that helped uncover subconscious junk that lay under my radar and kept me from a life I actually liked. I began to overcome old limitations and dared to reach farther: I found design work as a foreigner in border-preserving Denmark – while still living in NYC. Some years later I moved to Mexico City under arguably improbable circumstances. And during this transition I also changed careers – with no clue about the how, and being scared shitless.
Then I realized that I was forging a life that would have previously seemed impossible to me.

* After living in the pits, help others climb out.
The trail to who I am today has been steep, rocky, and sometimes suffocating. Like climbing a high, steep mountain. There have been changes in terrain, crests and troughs, gentle breezes as well as storms. So as I walked I began to wonder how to help others get to their “summits” – and reap the confidence and satisfaction of living fully.
Coaching is the form it took.
It is a practice that helps to fire up our thirst for life, to use fear as fuel and burn it into confidence. I know, because I’ve had coaches myself. And believe me, if it’s worked for a stubborn ass like me, it can work for you.
* As in the mountains, so in life.
High-altitude mountaineering is a big part of my life. As with any worthy endeavor, it requires a goal, planning, sacrifice, a team, and focused execution. Hiking up (and down) these high volcanoes teaches me resilience, tenacity of thought, and discipline. If my body isn’t in great shape (sacrifice: training & forgoing excesses), and if I let my mind run on autopilot when the going gets tough (focus) I won’t be able to enjoy this sport that demands so much – and rewards to the same degree (or more).
The outdoors have also taught me the value of working in a team. When taking a group hiking, climbing, or into the dark depths of an underground river, each team member has a function that must be carried out. All the pieces must fit together in a successful expedition.
I keep visiting the mountain as an exercise in personal growth. A pinnacle to reach, “No’s” to be said to my comfort zone, things to do long before and on the way to the summit, and, of course, making sure everyone comes home safely. Every trip reminds me of all the beauty and satisfaction life can grant us if we only put in the effort. And every time I come home I’m not the same person who took the first step that morning.
The mountain is one of my favorite metaphors for any challenge in life. I pay forward my lessons so even if you’re not into climbing volcanoes you can also learn from them.

* What makes my coaching effective?
An exceptionally sharp receptivity to the human psyche, mastery of language (English and Spanish), and knowledge I’ve gained through years of study and inner work have given me a great start. And did I mention years of mountaineering lessons?
My work is a blend of Theory, Vision, and Practice for deep personal transformation. My approach is rigorous and playful, thorough and irreverent. I use a wide array of tools to mirror your life back to you so you’ll see that who you’re being on the inside is creating what you’re getting on the outside.
As within, so without.
Plus, I’ve already got so many mistakes under my belt that my lessons learned can’t not help you.
* What tools do I use in coaching?
There is a variety of ways to reprogram the mind, and I use what feels best for every issue. Some tools that play powerful roles in my work are continuous observation of your attitude and “story”, listening to what you’re saying – and what you’re not – and re-framing obsolete thought patterns.
I may guide you in deep meditations and visualizations to help impregnate into your subconscious the changes you want to create.
A wide use of anecdotes and metaphor are also game-changers in my coaching; stories have a certain magic that opens us in countless ways.
Energy transmutation is another powerful way to help manifestation, also done in a meditative state through which I guide you.
Written exercises may be in order for yet other aspects of human transformation. These stream-of-consciousness dynamics help you uncover what is lying in your subconscious, otherwise undetected.
And every time we meet we identify the best practices for you to do between sessions to integrate what we do in-session.
And very importantly, I have used all of these tools myself. These are among the modalities that have helped to illuminate numerous aspects of my own life.
Essentially, I’ve been through hell so that you won’t have to.
* In what languages and by which media do I coach?
I am completely fluent in Spanish and English and available to coach in either. Si estás en México D.F. nos podemos ver en persona. If you’re anywhere else we can meet via Skype, Zoom, or phone.
* Does coaching at a distance work?
It is true that no technological medium replaces shared physical presence. Anyone in a long-distance relationship can attest to that (and not only regarding sex).
That said, I have been coaching long-distance for years. I’ve had clients in time-zones, countries, and continents away from where I live, and the results have never been short of inspiring. I’m not one to half-ass anything, and if it didn’t work, I would have stopped doing it long ago.
If you’re not in Mexico City and want to find out for yourself, read on.
* How do we start?
For 1-on-1 coaching, when we first speak we’ll identify the one existential issue you’re facing that will yield you the largest benefit as it gets resolved. It can be improving self esteem, reinventing some aspect of your life that is due for a change, rediscovering your Life Purpose (through my Life Purpose Triangle© process), expanding your level of awareness, rekindling your passions, developing self-love… whatever is most important to you at this time.
And this is where the idea of Future-To-Present comes in: you’ll define and plant the seeds of your desires in the part of your life that you’re always and irrevocably moving into – your future. I’ll help you to nurture that seed, and you’ll gather its fruits as the present unfolds.
If we find we’re a good match and decide to continue, we will meet once a week for 60-90 minutes. During our time together I’ll share with you the best tools I know to convert any blocks we find into energy that will propel you in the direction you want. We will review your previous week, set the intention for the one coming, explore and transform any blocks, and define practices to integrate what we’ve discovered.
This work normally goes on for a minimum of three months to ensure deep and lasting change. Some clients stay on for several years, as they feel they get more than they invest. And my job is to make sure that you all do – by showing up as the best coach I can be. And of course, we can also stop when the duration of our initial agreement is finished.
If you want more information about how to start coaching with me, contact me here. I’ll answer any questions about how we can move your life forward. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Email me.
I also invite you to read the generous statements by my clients on the “Testimonials” page. They’ll give you a better idea about the benefits and what it’s like to work with me. I hope they’ll inspire you as well.
